The sports promotion generated in the municipalities is determined by the municipal administration in conjunction with private clubs and sports associations, the first with a social focus and the following, created for competitive purposes. The municipalities, are fundamentally the main protagonists of the sports phenomenon in the Mexican localities, attend the growing demand of a society that claims the need to perform physical exercise and sport with very varied purposes. This is a quantitative and descriptive study, whose objective is to generate statistical information that allows to know the current state of the levels of physical exercise and sport. A total of 70 people over 18 years of age living in Pueblo Nuevo IV sector in the Municipality of Apodaca, 21 men and 49 women, were randomly surveyed. For data collection, the Survey format of the Sports Practice and Physical Exercise Module 2013 (MOPRADEF) was used. The results show us that 47% do not perform physical exercise or sport, however, 98% of this segment, states that they have the desire to start doing it. While 53% do physical exercise, 89% do it in public spaces, but lack a leader who serves as motivation to stay active. We conclude that the levels of exercise in this sector are similar to the world average, so developing community leaders who support the implementation of municipal sports activities will be key to increasing the practice of physical exercise and sport in our municipality.
