COVID-19 infection affects the athlete's physical abilities. Studying the effects of the virus will allow to control and adapt the training, impacting the gradual recovery and development of the athlete's abilities. The objective was to evaluate the impact of a training plan aimed at improving the physical capacities of endurance and speed in professional tennis players from the FCW Lippling club in Germany who have recovered from COVID-19. It is a descriptive quantitative study with a longitudinal temporality and quasi-experimental design. It assesses aerobic endurance, anaerobic power, speed and special endurance, measurements taken at two moments of the intervention (pre and post). The effect size (TE) is established using Cohen's d. It was found that there is a significant difference in the means (pre and post) sig ≤ .05, indicating that the improvement in capacities is due to the implementation of the training plan; with a small magnitude TE for aerobic power, speed and endurance (TE = 0.25, TE = 0.13, TE = 0.43, respectively); ss for special resistance, a moderate effect was obtained (TE = 0.75). It is concluded that the implementation of a personalized training plan designed based on the individual needs of the athletes of the FCW Lippling club showed significant effectiveness, strengthening the development of speed and endurance capabilities, mitigating the effects of COVID-19 on physical performance.
