EspañolAbstract
In sports, specifically basketball, AI has transformed performance analytics. Through tools such as computer vision and predictive models, it is possible to evaluate technical-tactical actions, predict injury risk and provide accurate feedback in real time, completely changing the paradigms of traditional training. Objective: To analyze the scientific production of the use of AI in basketball and to carry out a narrative review of the applications in this discipline. Methodology: Scientometric study from 2021 to 2026. The search for information was carried out on the Web of Science, using keywords "artificial intelligence" and "basketball". Results: Scientific production began in 2021, with more publications in 2022. Globally, China leads scientific production. The main authors are Jiang XX, Liu P, and Ren J, and the journal with the most publications is Mobile Information Systems. It is published only in English and scientific articles predominate. AI proved to be highly effective for biomechanical analysis, identifying fundamental gestures (shot, dribble or pass) with greater than 95% accuracy, facilitating early warning of injuries. Conclusions: Integrating AI into basketball is an emerging field, dominated by China and English-language literature. The analysis reaffirms a transition from a subjective assessment to a data-driven training model. This technology measurably improves technical execution and sports tactics and protects the physical integrity of athletes, consolidating itself as a tool that will define the future of sports science.
